Tooth still hurts. Goddamn paracetamol that says "every 4 hours" and yet must be balenced against "4 times a day". 4x4 != 24

And the one thing that was keeping me sane (well, ok, I have my beloved M, but he has his own life to lead) was Gone With The Wind, and now I've finished it :'(

If you'd check your MSM a little more regularly then I'd help keep you sane...

You're not the only one stuck at home being ill.

I'm back in work, but thinking this is maybe a bad idea. You *do* know that you can take ibuprofen too? Different class of painkiller.

Try oil of cloves, that's supposed to be good for toothache. You can also safely mix certain painkillers of different classes - NHS Direct recommended me to mix paracetamol and ibuprofen when I had tonsillitis last year, frex, but do take care if you do so.

I realize this isn't what you want to hear, but I thought it said "no oftener that every 4 hours" and "no oftener than 4 times a day". Also, hug.

You can combine Ibuprofen and paracetamol, and I'm proof that you don't automatically die from doing so. If you top up one as the other starts wearing off, it works quite well.

But it's probably not especially good for you, and REALLY sends you out of it. Zombie-style.

Assuming you're supposed to get 8 hours sleep a night, its OK: 4x4 = (24 - 8).

But I can't get 8 hours sleep as my toothache keeps waking me up when the drugs wear off at 3am!

It's quite safe to stack Neurofen (or random other Ibuprofen) and Paracetemol - so long as you don't exceed the dose on either. Codine stacks with either, but is usually packaged with paracetemol (cocodamol).

You probably knew that, though.

Yeah, I don't think you can actually buy Codine neat. Cocodamol is *much* stronger than paracetemol... but you have to ask for it (it's over the counter but rarely out) and I think there's a limit to how much you can buy at once.
