Nice couple of days - my wonderfully laid back biological father was perfectly happy to go punting with a random guy from switzerland, and then treated Matthew and I to dinner at the Thai place near the river. Jorg seemed to really enjoy being shown round Queens' and taught to punt - travelling alone round a foreign country, even one where you're fluent in the language, must be very intimidating.

Today? Well, went with Matthew to pick up a working monitor (my forteen inches just wern't enough to satisfy him for very long) thus meeting another one of his friends :-) , went into town to pick up money etc for the holiday, and after a lot of faff, and a very pleasent lunch of pate, bread and wonderful apple juice, went off to Wimpole Hall. Great fun - really helpful NT people in the house, and a fun "write with a quill pen and play with these victorian toys" room, and a wonderful walk up to the folly.

And now out for dinner I think... for tomorrow I shall be off travelling once more...

It's a diagonal measurement, remember.

And I keep failing to actually syncronise with you enough to meet up, or even talk - if you get some free time next time you pass through Cambridge, do let me know.

Sorry... Next time I'm back I'm here for more than 7 days (although not much more) This may not help much as you'll be in E'burgh.

Seriously, I get back on the 8th, so we should meet up before I go off to the states on the 20th...

Edinburgh lasts until the 10th, remember - although I plan to extend this for a couple of days by staying with relatives. Even so, I will be back for the following weekend for other reasons, so well before the 20th.
