Wow! That looks fun! How much does it cost?

Too much. It was a birthday present. Which means I don't actually know how much it cost, but even their "you already know how to do this" prices are over £10 a minute. I got four sessions of one minute, which felt like a huge amount at the time.

Shame it's expensive. It was so much fun!

I think it's not bad value for money for doing as a one off experience, but I fear to think how much it would cost to actually get good and learn skills. The stuff the instructor could do was really cool.

So what is it? A really big fan with a mesh over it and perspex walls?

I'm sure we could knock up an extremely unsafe version...

I seem to recall they do it with some kind of turbine arrangement that is actually some distance from the place with people in, with ducts to take the air to there.

The Markham wind tunnel in CUED has its turbines in the basement (but occupies the 3rd and 4th floors of one wing).

Unfortunately, the bits with windows are in the horizontal sections.
