I had a really nice time last night with olithered, aiwendel, and Cat* who are lovely people I don't see nearly enough of. aiwendels garden deserves the praise that the best new garden judges gave it. It is beautiful, with twisting pathways leading from delight to delight; full of nooks and crannies that beckon you to sit down with a book and watch the world go by. Bowers and ponds and roses and logs and dragonflies... Oh, and a large blackberry bush, which will always score highly in my book :-) I am suffering from severe garden envy now. When I am a rich civil servant I will pay Tish to make me a garden of joy too. Except by then she'll be so famous that even rich civil servants will not be able to afford her.
It was lovely to sit outside, eating barbecued meat-onna-stick and drinking, err, maybe a little more than I should have done. And it's been far too long since I toasted marshmallows :-) We then retreated into the warmth of the livingroom where I lost spectacularly at both the mouse game and jenga. However, I managed to break the mouse game so it will never taunt me again. Oops. :-/
In fact it's been a really nice week. We had Mobbsy round for dinner on Tuesday too, but I was a little tired and in post-tooth-extraction flop, so I gave up early and dozed off to what sounded like TGGD drifting up the stairs...
The pattern spotting, superstitious part of my brain was righteously justified this morning that Emp's passport loss was an act of God, as if he had made it to Oz Heathrow might never have let him back. The rational bit of my brain really really hopes God doesn't work like that.
