Had a lovely evening Tuesday night, went out to dinner with mouse262, Peter B, arnhem, L, and the ever lovely M. We went to the hotpot, which had the advantage of not only being chinese, and thus possibly my favourite cuisine ever, but also of educating L further in useful life skills such as the use of chopsticks. Then we went back to House, where we were spoilt rotten with chocolate and playstation games. I will continue to maintain that I like people whether or not they feed me vast quantities of chocolate, but it seems only fair to say that the vast quantities of chocolate don't damage our friendship at all ;-) And I got to play dance-dance-mania, which I adore, although I couldn't compete with arnhem's "twitch very slightly in the right direction at exactly the right moment and get straight perfects" approach.
mouse262 had a Tigger game, which L played. At one point Tigger had to jump over a hole. Having been well brought up on platforms with bottemless pits and sharp spikes I warned her not to fall in the hole, and braced myself for the upset when she did. However, when I dared to look, I found Tigger standing safely in the hole, with his ears sticking out the top, ready to be jumped out.
Then the boys played some strange shoot-em-up, with the music subtly but precisely linked to the shooting them up. It was the closest thing I've found to a game the Demon Headmaster could take over the world with - it was surprisingly hypnotic. Although no octapi.
That's probably enough talk of computer games, so I won't distress you all with a description of pjc50s battle with the flying wax strips. Although it was lovely to see him again - it had been far too long. It was very much a you-had-to-be-there evening. I'm glad I was there.
