Ronan Keating has done a cover version of Iris. Something private and painful and beautiful and buried deep in my heart is now playing out of every tinny shop speaker in a smooth irish croon. It's a bit strange.

Oh God, please tell me he hasn't. I love that song, precisely because it is so painful.

I am so sorry for you, that your private, beautiful feelings have been ruined by this Irish crooner. I haven't heard his version, but I have no doubt at all that it is truly awful.

Bleh, G4 did the same to Creep. Walk around with earplugs for the next few weeks/months, it's the only way to be sure.

the horror.

Seriously, I was buying towels last week in an outlet store (largeley irrelevant, keep reading), and they were playing Dizzy Up The Girl over the stereo system. I was loving it, and as we left, they were playing Iris. I turned to Veronica, who I was with, and said "this is one of my all time favourite songs ever".

Now this.
