I seem to be back in my shoes. I have been having fun, but have managed to get my head out of the sand just far enough to see that short term pleasure isn't the be all and end all, and so have been sloping off early from my social life (sorry nassus and sonicdrift!) and have caught up on sleep. Which is having the wonderful feedback loop of making everything far more fun.

It's been a good bank holiday weekend. It started early, with a no-coffee break with james_r on Friday. It's really nice getting to know the climbers better outside climbing. Then I cooked venison sausages and pork chops (indeciciveness is one of my great weaknesses) and went to see X men III. sevenstring was generous enough to loan me Angel I (I love the whole geek community / trust thing. I hope I get to put stuff back into the pot as well as leach out of it at some point) so M and I had an, err, productive day on Saturday watching Buffy, before going off to the Carlton to celebrate the improved location of both nassus and davethedog. Lovely to see everyone, and to lose at zen guess who most enjoyably. Left early (see first paragraph), and on Sunday morning I went to Wesley, and then to Jon and Sarah's for fabulous Sausage and Onion Mash, lots of very pleasent alcohol, and good games of Once Upon a Time, DoppleKoft, and Apples to Apples. I miss my housemates :-) Then on to Alison's party, where I was stunningly impressed by the house, the food, the company, and oooooh, the garden. Oh, the garden! It was so tempting. So tempting I, err, might have indulged in a little frolicking. I hope ewx has destroyed the evidence. Or made me an animated icon :-) And today I woke up early, the sun was shining, I ate two boiled eggs and a yogurt, oiled my bike, came into the whittle and found my coat. Yeah. Happy and sorted. I'm going to enjoy it while it lasts :-)

Listening to Q103 at the moment, the poor woman is trying to fill the monday morning traffic slot with "no traffic anywhere", which seems to be causing her some difficulty :-)

Frolicking in May - surely not?

I am recovering from a fine wedding, lots of travelling, and the effects of dece[ptively-arranged cobblestones at the Albert Dock in Liverpool. Otherwise I would probably be in Cambridge, not least because I want to buy whisky.

Do come to Ely some time - would be good to see you...

It would be good to meet up. What suits you? Dinner one weekday evening, a Saturday afternoon of chat, a fun walk in the great outdoors?

Indeed.

Saturdyas are generally good - I think I've passed thropugh my latest batch of full weekends now, though I wouldn't take that as gospel, as I can never collate my social life more than a week or two in advance.

Week evenings are OK, but given the distances I travel to work, I wouldn't be in cam before seven.

Let me know when you have free time...

No traffic anywhere?

This sorely tempts me to go for a drive to somewhere pretty. Except that I just got woken up by the sound of hail, of all things.

Hail at the end of May; I boggle!

Am I allowed to curse you for making this sort of post whilst I have a revision monster chasing me?

What? No? Curses. Ah well, can I have a *hug* instead then?

Now is the month of Maying,
When merry lads are playing,
Fa la la la la.

Each with his bonny lass,
upon the greeny grass,
Fa la la la la.

(We sung that at our concert the other week.)

It does seem to have tunnelled into your brain and refused to come out, doesn't it?

No-one knows what the game is because it is now a women's morris group thing. They have taken on the identity and erased any previous reference to the rules of the game. Either that it this was done by a company selling hot drinks.
