Had interview on Tuesday. Have been called back for second interview on Monday, which is unexpected, and slightly odd. Don't know where this week has gone, really. The friars left Bene'ts on Tuesday, which while sad was a nice excuse to see church people who hadn't been around over the hols, and to laugh at the idea of "fransiscans against poverty" at the G8 summit. On Wednesday M and I had a Grand Gluten Free Dinner Party, with cartesiandaemon, the_alchemist, simont and sonicdrift, although I was sufficiently drunk I have no idea if anyone else enjoyed it. I apologise if there was too much shakespeare (if there is such a thing) Articulate was played well. Recovering from this took up quite a lot of Thursday, and then I had to prepair my calling for the Round. Which was enough of a hit that Eleanor sent me a tentitive email asking if I'd be interested in doing half a ceilidh later this year *still hasn't come down from the ceiling*

And now I Must Work!

You asked me if I'd enjoyed it at least three times, and I said yes every time. Was that not good enough? Or were you too drunk to remember me answering on any occasion? I suppose that would explain the second and third times you asked. :-P

*hugs* Yes, I enjoyed it. *smile*

Too much Shakespeare? I can't believe that's possible... :-)

I don't know how it works in Britain, but in Germany it's quite common to be called back for a second interview if they liked you the first time (at least for some jobs). Good luck!

A lot of UK companies do two interviews too.

Mine went along the lines of:

Would you like the job then?

How much money do you want?

For that matter, occasionally not meaning anything apart from disorganisation; one company I won't name in public had several people be interviewed several times due to their "Oops, there's no one who can do a good interview here today. Um." policy :)

I'm reasonably good at calling dances where a few people in each set already know what they're doing. I've called at the round quite a few times (as has M), but I've never been let loose on Non-Round people at the larger ceilidhs before!

Dinner was good *hug* We did get drunk, but it was good. I thanked you in email, didn't I?

Rest assured, I would always say 'it was lovely' but if there was anything wrong I would add a "but you might want to consider..." There was nothing. It was good. The nearest I can come to a critisism is you should panic less about it not being good :)

Also, CEILIDH! Woooo! Why is that so much harder to type in capitals?

Second interviews are quite common if there are large numbers of applicants of similar CV quality. A first pass and then a second pass to decide between the very few (3-5) that you really want.

Yup. With most jobs, about the only time you won't get a second interview is if your CV puts you on the second-round shortlist without even having to have a first-round interview.
