Err, I would find it a much harder choice to make if it was my writing arm, although I think the answer would be the same.

To me it seems that learning to write with your other hand is a tiny task compared to all the other things which would become difficult with only one arm. Like looking after children, as Dawn points out!

Yes, that made me smile. Err, I'm really quite bad at things requiring manual dexterity, and not particularly ambidextrous. I think I'd stand a fairly good chance of learning how to do things one handed with my good hand, but with my bad hand? I'm worried I'd never manage it, and not being able to write, or do buttons, or...
Yeah, you're probably right, I'd manage it in the end, but it seems a huge and daunting task to me...
