I seem to have hit the usual diary problem, to whit: if things are interesting enough to be worth writing about there's no time to write about them, and if there's spare time to update LJ all the interesting stuff has already happened.

And I do seem to use LJ to rant rather than to talk about all the really cool stuff in my life. Still, I'm sure the rest of you don't want to read a description of how exciting my quantum field theory lecture was this morning, or how lovely M's been these last few weeks, or any other TMI that's been cheering me up :-)

Local and Global bifurcations lecturer has decided it is kind to us to move his 10am Saturday lecture to Friday afternoon. This would be true if and only if there weren't other lectures at 9 and 11 on a Saturday. So I have to get up early, and am now just killing time spodding - even more frustrating because there is loads of stuff to sort out, but people don't seem to want to answer emails. Either that or hermes is eating things again. And The CMS is just remote enough that I can't get anywhere useful and back in an hour and have time while there...

The last week has been mainly Matthew and I trying to fit two peoples lives into the time taken up by one. I've never been much of a one for compromise (having a very arrogant "you can take me or leave me, but I'm not tying myself down with other peoples faff, or having you make my life worse than it would be without you in it" attitude I can't quite get rid of as much as I'd like to) but I am trying :-/ Still, it's not being made easier by everyone else... long argu^H^H^H err, discussions about whether we can attend housewarmings / visit people which would have been, while not pleasent, at least helpful and constructive bickering, all became rather moot when said housewarmings / people failed to happen at little or no notice. I'm not annoyed at anyone, but it does seem like we've had more of our share of bad luck and organisational doom this week.

Ah, a lecture is nearly upon me. Sigh. Astrophysical Fluid Dynamics here I come :-D

Current Mood: sleepysleepy

claroscuro and I take the approach that we don't have to do everything together...

Oh, M's fine about that. He has no desire at all to come to my quantum field theory lectures :-(

I want to! I want to! I'm just too stoooopid to be allowed to attend your fancy maths lectures. I'm only allowed to attend 1A QB :-(

Oh no, as a member of the university you have *every* right to attend my QFT lectures. I'm so happy you want to *beam*! 9am Saturday morning here we come!

(And don't worry if you can't understand it all, we'll just have to have hot maths instead of hot sex for a while! :-D

both of those sound interesting to me, but I may be the only friend of Matthew's who is currently missing her dose of Camb. maths lectures :) And QFT sounds really interesting...or else too applied for my tastes: at the part III level all lectuers sound interesting and then turn out to be about physics really. *sigh*
