I have marched. It was awesome. It was exhausting. There were students, and teachers, and NHS staff, and firemen, and social workers, and medics, and theatre people, and disabled people, and... hundreds of perfectly ordinary yet unique and awesome people, all giving up their time because they believe (as I do) that what they do makes the world a better place. It was both amazingly inspiring (because the world has people like that in it, and we can come together and be heard) and petrifying (because this is what's at risk, and it's bright and brilliant and good)

[If you were hoping from anything from me that requires more brain power than this LJ post, it's not going to happen until tomorrow afternoon. I have to cook a roast dinner for four now, and run Sunday school tomorrow morning. Ah, life, always busy, always fun.]

Glad it was fun, although I doubt if it will make one bit of difference, given that marching doesn't generate money (or not nearly enough of it).

We just went to the Cambridge Science Festival instead and met a dalek.

The people selling whistles and bacon sandwiches for a pound seemed to be doing quite well out of it :-)

You managed to write this as well as having guests and then meeting other friends?!? Sally, I salute you. And it was brill to march with you.

It really was the most amazing life-affirming protest of the country agan=inst it's government non-mandated slash and pillage. And don't let any later footage of a handful of self-deluded, so called anarchists hell-bent on snatching defeat from victory tell you otherwise.

Would you have felt even better about it if the people the BBC etc. make entirely clear you were not associated with were more actively rebuked/ excluded/ not actively included and promoted, or was that a trivial part of the experience for you?
