I'm skeptical about the 'LJ gives people a year's free paid account in order to get them signed up to an inertia marketting direct debit scheme'

However, if you're less skeptical and would like my $10 dollars, first 10 commenters can have them. And I won't be in the slightest bit offended if you then decide not to use it. I'm assuming that most people I know who want paid accounts have them already though...

I'm sceptical too, and unless I'm missing something it's only a year's half-price account.

Oh yes! I missed that. Still, given I'm not interested in it for myself, not reading the fine print probably isn't too worrying

Why are you skeptical? It only gives you a $10 coupon to put towards a one-off payment or a (cheaper, but still more than $10) recurring payment.

Skeptical as in 'I'm not sure this is a particularly great deal that anyone will want to do', not skeptical as in 'I don't think LJ will really give people the discount'
