As most of you know, my favourite animal is a fox.

And as some of you may know, I have a real soft spot for those cute grey tatty teddies you get in Clintons.

So you would think I was their target market for this:

tatty teddy dressed as fox

So why do I just find it incredably disturbing?

Or maybe because it looks like it is wearing one of those fur stoles with the face still attached (I like those, but I gather this is very definitely a ymmv sort of area)?

I went to the university bridge club last night, and everything one guy did, he did "crazy like a fox". Or so he said. I couldn't see any difference between his "Play low, crazy like a fox", or "Move to table 4 e/w like a fox" from a normal person's non-crazy non-vulpine playing low or moving.

So why do I just find it incredably disturbing?

Because the bear is wearing the fox's skin?
Because it looks like a giant fox infected with a chest-bursting Alien teddy?
Because it's a weird fox/bear hybrid mutant?
Because of a bad childhood experience with someone in a fursuit removing their head?

I can't say it particularly bothers me, but I don't find it cute.

(Also, have a stuffed-toy anime fox-squirrel icon :))

realdoll has a fox which she uses as a (non-liturgical) stole. He's called Boris.

Because foxes which have eaten cute bears are distressing? Especially when one can see the bear in the process of being eaten.

Because it looks like it has killed another cuddly toy, skinned it, put the skin on and stuck its head proudly through its slit throat.
