Well, the_alchemist can stop worrying about foot in mouth… - Sally's Journal
can stop worrying about foot in mouth disease
A few loose ends to tie up as to exactly *what* job I've got, but it looks like I probably have a tutoring job with the OU.
Being paid to understand shiny graduate maths!!! :-) :-) :-)
Thankyou to the_alchemist
! *hugs you all*
[this is only a part time thing, so if you're praying / thinking of me / otherwise sending me job search vibes, don't feel you're allowed to stop yet ;-) ]

That's a great phrase... I get overtones of blood groups...
"what mental-state group are you?"
"I'm atheist positive"

Sooo... any plans about what the other parts of this job plan are likely to be?

*gets out umbrella, and uses it to prod people who rain on her parade* :-p
Do you really want to know? I'm going to apply to PWC, and ECM, and the other shiny souless graduate recruiters around Cambridge, and if they can't take me till September because of the way graduate recruitment works I'll get some admin / temp work / something. I'm looking into whether there's any way of getting recruited by the Civil Service but with the constraints of only being to work in the Go East office. I should pro-actively go and find other accountancy forms, I should reply to autonomy's head hunting letter, I should keep a better eye on the grads east job page.
Or I could pack it all in and find a rich husband ;-)
Oooh. Could you send me details, please? That does sound interesting and useful...

is a better person to ask than me, because she is actually tutoring for the OU, rather than about to start tutoring for the OU.
To summerise, the pay is quite poor, but you can do it around a real job, and you get about a grands worth of free OU tutoring for yourself (if you have any free time to do it in!)
Everything I know I found out from this comment
Squee! Excellent! :-)
So if I should happen to move into your vicinity in the near future (not that I'm planning to, but I could certainly be tempted to move out of Sheffield for the right job) you could be tutoring me. What fun!
That's a really good place to start - congrats :)
