Dress of Joy!
Am now the proud owner of a Dress of Joy. Hadn't really thought about what I was going to do with it though. So, friends of LJ, help me out!

Current ideas I have...

1) Save it carefully until the not-Histories, and beg the_alchemist to cast you as someone who can wear it.

2) Have an Elizabethan dinner party with Elizabethan food and Elizabethan costume (NB, may not be able to sit down in dress...)

3) Have a fancy dress party

4) Hire the black Elizabethan costume that M was wearing at the party just before we started going out, and organise a romantic evening for the two of you

5) Go to a May Ball in it :)
5a) Go to the Playford Ball in it. Dancing in said dress will be interesting. I think, like most people, cobalt_skye has a couple of inches on me in the height department.

6) Organise a readthrough where I can cast myself as a charactor in a stunning black elizabethan dress (any suggestions of what?)

7) Find a Genuine Play, CULES or otherwise, that needs a charactor in a stunning black elizabethan dress.

8) Just wear it into the Whittle lab, they all think I'm mad already.

If you have other ideas, or are planning an event at which you would like an atreic in a stunning black elizabethan dress, or would like to be invited to any of the above events if they did happen, leave me a comment!

All of the above! *bounce* All of the above *bounce*.

Seriously, try it out, see if you can sit/dance, etc, and choose based on that. Is there a theme which beatiful elizabethan dresses would be a good exaample of, but most people could find something to fit?

2).....and only invite people called Elizabeth, Liz, Lizzy, Nick, Libby, or Beth.

Otherwise I'd go for 5a. I can't quite figure out the mechanics of the dress from the pictures (I'm thinking the orange underskirt looks rigid while the black skirt is flexible and just sits ontop of it?), but it looks like it might be one of those ones which does really cool looking things when the girl is spun.

I can't really imagine an event at which I wouldn't like an atreic in a stunning black dress, Elizabethan or otherwise, but there is nothing specifically in the diary at the moment. Although there should be bridge. Definitely. Although it's not universally associated with dressiness, I must admit.

I think we should have a playing-bridge-in-pretty-dresses event. Yes yes yes. :)

8, of course. And 5, too.

I once went to work in black tie (en-route to a May Ball). See, I can be as crazy as you lot sometimes.

Either an Elizabethan dinner party or a fancy dress party. An event at which you must wear costume is always v bon. And Elizabethan costume is a paritucularly good idea......but it depends if you want everyone in it, or if you want to stand out as the only one in a dress like that whilst other people are fairies and cowboys and things.
